We started out in 2005 when Patty got Prancer, the red and
white Husky who started us on the road to where we are now.
Prancer infected us with a disease called M.H.S.--Multiple
Husky Syndrome. One Husky just was not enough. Stacey
was also infected with the disease and decided to get involved
at this point.
Dougal and Maya, brother and sister Sibes, joined us early in
2006. It wasn't long after that when the sisters, Angel and
Scarlett, joined the pack. In early summer of 2006, Xena,
followed shortly by Loki, came on board. Tasha came to us
along with Loki. She was already 2 1/2 at the time and a bit
timid and shy at first, but she found her place in the pack
structure with no problem.
Since then, other Huskies have joined the pack: Cheyenne,
Sitka, Maia, Skyy came to us from various outside sources.
Miley and Lulu were both born at Happy Trails and stayed with
us.
Patty and Stacey live down the road from each other. Dougal,
Sitka, Maia, and Skyy stay at Stacey's house while all of the
others live at Patty's house. All 14 are part of one large pack.
Stacey's four are a sort of a "sub-pack." :)
Our first litter arrived in November of 2006. 2007 has
presented us with several healthy litters so far, and we are
expecting more before the year is over. Our first priority is the
health of our dogs and puppies, so if there are no puppies
currently available, be patient. When the time is right,
puppies will be arriving!
Prancer, or Big Boy, is the first
dog and the alpha dog at Happy
Trails. He never lets us forget it!
Maya's favorite hang-out is the
swing!
We are a family endeavor. Patty Mazyck retired in November
of 2005 and decided to finally realize her dream of getting a
Siberian Husky. As mentioned above, one led to another.
And another. And another!
Stacey Sparks-Lazurek is Patty's daughter and
stay-at-home mom to two Catholic school wild children,
Rebekah and J.P. The kids enjoy getting involved with the
dogs, too, and have turned out to be a big help. And
Siberians ADORE children!
Robert Mazyck, Patty's husband, is a proud Husky dad and
works hard to ensure that the kennels are sturdy, the fences
secure, and the holes in the yard filled with dirt. Have we
mentioned that Huskies like to dig?
Chris Lazurek, Stacey's husband, is a mostly silent partner.
He is the long-suffering financial backer of Stacey's wild
schemes. At least raising and breeding Siberian Huskies
beats shopping sprees, and besides, he and Prancer are
really good buddies!
